Changing one life at a time

About three months ago on a dark and rainy evening (made even darker with no streetlights or electricity in the village) around 8pm our campus manager found 5-year-old Lisa knocking on the gate of the Imagine School Campus. He opened the gate and asked, “Who are you?” Lisa was a stranger to Imagine School. She started crying and begged, “Please allow me to stay here. I have no mother and my stepfather is drunk and drove me out of the home.

Our staff did not have enough courage to allow her to stay that night and later found out that she, at eight years old, had stayed alone in an abandoned house in the village where no one has lived for many years. The next morning our staff members were surprised to see Lisa at the Imagine School Campus gate. She started crying and again begged, “I am hungry and tired. I have not eaten any food for the past two days. Please give me some food.”

This time we chose to take her in and she was provided food and a nap for a couple of hours. When she awoke, she started sharing her story about what she has been going through without her mother. We informed the local authorities about Lisa’s situation and decided to provide for her on the campus. She has never attended pre-school so recently she began at the school and is learning a lot. Join hands with us to change lives of many like Lisa.
